Sheria inayotumikaThe law that applies
Sheria inayohusika ni Sheria ya Ulinzi wa Taarifa Binafsi ya Tanzania ya mwaka 2022 (Personal Data Protection Act, 2022), inayosimamiwa na Tume ya Ulinzi wa Taarifa Binafsi. Huduma hii inashughulikia namba za NIDA na picha za vitambulisho vyenye sura yako, ambazo ni taarifa nyeti, na sera hii imeandikwa kwa uzito huo.
The relevant law is Tanzania's Personal Data Protection Act, 2022, overseen by the Personal Data Protection Commission. This service handles NIDA numbers and photographs of identity documents bearing your face, which are sensitive data, and this policy is written with that weight.

You can remove both by clearing this site's data in your browser. The wallet itself at /app stores your session identifier so you are not made to sign in constantly; that is part of the service, not tracking.

We do not sell your data and we do not rent it to anybody for advertising. We have no plan to, and if that ever changed we would tell you before, not after.

Under the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 you may ask to see the data we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to object to how we use it, and to complain to the Personal Data Protection Commission. Send your request by any route on the support page.
Kuhusu kufutaAbout erasure
Hapa tunapaswa kuwa wakweli badala ya kuwa wepesi. Leja yetu ya kifedha imefungwa kwa mnyororo wa hash, na ndiyo maana miamala haiwezi kubadilishwa kimya kimya. Sifa hiyo hiyo ina maana hatuwezi kufuta mstari wa muamala: kufuta mmoja kungevunja mnyororo mzima na kuondoa uwezo wa kuthibitisha miamala ya kila mtu mwingine.
Here we owe you honesty rather than convenience. Our financial ledger is sealed with a hash chain, which is exactly why a transaction cannot be altered quietly. That same property means we cannot delete a transaction line: deleting one would break the whole chain and destroy the ability to verify everybody else's transactions.

What we can do, and will do on request where no legal duty requires us to keep them: delete the photograph of your ID, and remove your identifying details from the account record. What remains is a financial record that does not name you.

Kumbukumbu za kifedha zinabaki kwenye leja kwa sababu zilizoelezwa hapo juu. Taarifa za utambulisho zinahifadhiwa wakati akaunti yako ikiwa hai, na kwa muda unaotakiwa baadaye na sheria ya kuzuia utakatishaji fedha.
Financial records stay on the ledger for the reasons above. Identity records are kept while your account is live, and afterwards for the period anti money laundering law requires.

The exact period is pending confirmation. The precise number of years belongs here and must be set by the operator on legal advice, following Tanzanian anti money laundering record-keeping requirements. We have not written a number we invented.
Data inapohifadhiwaWhere the data lives

This system keeps its data in its own database, and identity photographs in object storage which may sit outside Tanzania depending on the provider chosen. The operator should name that location here, and satisfy themselves that the transfer meets the requirements of the 2022 Act.
